Installing headliner in '32 coupe. Does it attach to the windshield reglulator board? If so, how?
It appears that the regulator board is removable which would not be practical if the headliner is attached. Instructions I have mentions a front trim board. Is that part of the windshield regulator board?

Remove regulator board attach to front of roof. Cover regulator board with upholstery and reinstall.

Attach to front of roof? There is nothing behind regulator board to attach to. Just the steel roof. Should there be a wood strip? Original wood was gone when I got the car.

There should be a small board above the regulator board to tack the headliner material. That way the regulator board which is covered with upholstery material can be removed without disturbing the headliner. I don't have a '32 closed car to take a photo. Hopefully someone else does.

There should be a front roof rail (wood) . The front bow trim strip attaches to the roof front rail. From the 32 supplement of the 26-31 body service manual. The headliner attaches to that front bow trim strip. If I am reading it correct the windshield upper panel is attached to the front rail with 10-12 screws. The front bow trim strip goes over and covers the screws. The front roof rail is where the slats of the roof attach.

OK - got it. Trim board was attached to top edge of regulator board. Removed it and it installs exactly as explained. Nice when things start falling into place. Many thanks!
