I realize this isn't a "car". I'm wanting to replace my steel trailer with an aluminum 18' car hauler. Can't afford a new one.

A couple of years ago, I saw a car hauler that was pretty neat.

The guy purchased a used camper trailer, gutted it, cut the rear wall, and then reattached it with big hinges on the bottom lip. The rear wall of the trailer now can be lowered (and used as a ramp) and the vehicle to be towed drives up into the enclosed camper trailer.

With the rear wall up and latched in place and the windows frosted over, everyone thinks he's pulling a camper with no clue that he is trailering a vintage car.

My point is, maybe you can get a light weight used camper trailer (even one that is trashed) and use the chassis for your hauling purposes.

Cheers, Dean

I have rebuilt many camp trailers... and the walls, (including the rear wall .... used for the ramp)... would never hold the weight of a car... they are all very flimsy/poor construction..... thin metal & thin walled cheap tubing..... even the major trailer frame is thin and not strong enough to carry 3,000 more pounds of automobile. That said... if you reinforced everything on the camp trailer... then it might work...

Nice trailer but needs to be a couple of feet longer. The rear wheels would be sitting on the dovetail. I search the local FB Marketplace regularly but so far all that's been listed are new trailers and those are out of my price range.

Nice trailer and a reasonable starting price but WAY too far away. Now, if someone down that way is coming to the Arkansas tour in October and wants to drag it with them....... laugh
